An introduction to Dansko, now available at The Right Shoe

WOO HOO!!! We are proud to announce that after nearly a year, The Right Shoe is now officially displaying Dansko proudly on our shoe shelves!!!  Both our York location and Lancaster locations are now carrying the Dansko line, with the arrival of their signature clog. BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!! Sandals from Dansko will also be arriving in Early April.

I didn’t really understand what the Dansko craze was all about until I got properly educated from our Dansko rep and tried them on for myself. I want to also educate all of you so you have a better understanding of why Dansko clogs are made the way that they are, and fit the way that they do.

Dansko believes that your feet are the foundation of your life, and essentially, if you think about it they should be. With that being said, your feet are carrying your body weight and keeping you mobile no matter where life ends up taking you, so why not want to properly support and take care of them. That is why every collection Dansko designs is based on the comfort principles of the clog to maximize all-day comfort. Dansko shoes can’t shorten your day, but they can reduce strain on your entire body. Their unique construction supports high-quality leather uppers that follow the natural contours of the foot, leather sock linings, proper arch support, and anatomically correct footbeds. To help people feel better for longer Dansko adds shock absorption, a rocker bottom and solid arch support to reduce any strain on your legs, back and feet. Each style features a roomy toe box to promote circulation, a stress reducing rocker bottom, and superior arch support. And it doesn’t stop there, with a flair for style; Dansko translates today’s trends into shoes made for every moment of your life. From Dansko clogs to boots, flats to sandals, wherever you’re going, there is a Dansko to get you there. It’s no accident that Dansko shoes have become the choice of doctors, nurses, teachers, chefs and other professionals who stand for hours at a time. People who work hard also want to play hard in the rest of their life. You will have years of dependable wear, whether you are trying out your first pair or adding another style of Dansko to your collection.

Dansko shoes are sized according to European (EU) whole size standards. To help you find the right fit, come in to The Right Shoe to be properly sized and we will be happy to ensure a proper fit for you. Most styles are manufactured in medium width. We offer a range of designs to accommodate a variety of foot types. Dansko also offers narrow and wide clogs for men and women.

When fitting closed back style clogs, fit may be slightly snug when stepping in. Toes should not touch the front of the clog. Heel should move up and down freely as you walk. A variety of closed-back styles, offering such design features as buckles and elastic are added to styles as a design feature to accommodate both high and low insteps. Open-back and sandal styles support the full length of the foot. For some wearers, the heel of the foot will meet the back end of the shoe exactly; for others, the heel may be slightly forward of the back of the shoe. Adjustability is carefully considered in the design of the open-back and sandal uppers, taking the form of buckles, elasticized panels, and convertible heel straps.

The Right Shoe would love to hear your feedback. Please, feel free to comment on your profession and your past experiences with Dansko.

  1. I still have every pair of Dansko Clogs I have ever bought….sitting at the back of my closet gathering dust. They are like bricks on my feet. Some people love them. I don’t. I regret buying them.

    • Sorry for the delayed response. I have heard that before about the Dansko clogs. Unfortunately, the Dansko rocker bottom such as used in their clogs is not agreeable for every foot type. If you like the look of the Dansko clogs, but find them too stiff you may consider trying the clog styles (such as the Naples) from Klogs. The are not nearly as stiff and use a much softer insert which provides more cushioned support as opposed to the firm support of the Dansko.

  2. My brother recommended I might like this website. He used
to be totally right. This put up actually made my
day. You cann’t believe simply how a lot time I had
    spent for this information! Thanks!
